Alexis is an associate attorney with Neighborhood Law Group of Iowa. Alexis engages in the general practice of law including criminal defense, family law, juvenile law and adoptions. She received her Juris Doctorate from Drake University in 2019 and was admitted to the Iowa State Bar in the same year. While at Drake Law School, Alexis received a certificate in Constitutional Law and Civil Rights. Alexis received her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services from Quincy University in 2016.
At Drake Law School Alexis was a C. Edwin Moore Oral Argument semi-finalist. She also spent a year as a Student Attorney in the Children’s Rights Clinic representing parents and children, serving as Guardian Ad Litem, and representing juveniles in delinquency matters. Alexis also completed an internship with the Public Defender’s Office in Special Defense/Wrongful Convictions. Prior to and throughout law school Alexis worked in various social work settings. She gained invaluable experience in mental health diagnosis and treatment, substance abuse treatment, facilitating group therapies, and working in inpatient/outpatient facilities for youth and adults.
Alexis is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association, including the Young Lawyers Division, the Polk County Women Attorneys, and the Iowa Organization of Women Attorneys.
Fun Facts: When Alexis isn’t working she’s likely at home with her family! She loves binging Netflix, listening to audiobooks, trying out new recipes, and attempting to keep plants alive.
